| Scott Smolenski - Adjunct Professor
of Music Theory, Music Appreciation, World Music and Class Piano.
Professor Smolenski has been teaching at Santa Fe College since 2005. He
holds two degrees from the University of South Florida, a Bachelor's in
composition, and a Master's in Music Theory. His professors were Hilton
Jones and Ann Hawkins. In addition, he holds a Master's degree in
composition from Florida State University, where he studied with Laislav
Kubik. Professor Smolenski has composed numerous pieces for orchestra, strings, wind ensemble, choir, piano, and trumpet. His compositions have enjoyed performances in Prague, Czech Republic (Czech Summer Composition Institute), the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (Tampa Bay Composer's recitals), the Florida State University (New Music Concert), and the University of South Florida (Student Composer's Symposium, and Graduate conducting Recitals). He is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Gainesville Music Teachers Association, and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians. Mr. Smolenski is an active church musician, and maintains a private piano studio. |
